Ann Day has spent her career doing one thing exceptionally well: making books matter to audiences.
Over more than two decades, she has designed and led high-impact publicity campaigns for bestselling and award-winning authors across every genre, from children’s picture books and young adult fiction to celebrity titles, presidential memoirs, and major nonfiction. Her work has included multi-city tours, virtual campaigns, and large-scale media events that drive visibility, conversation, and sales.
Most recently, Ann served as Publicity Director at The Walt Disney Company. Prior to that, she led publicity for both adult and children’s titles at National Geographic, where her role expanded far beyond books. She oversaw media strategy, PR, and communications teams for National Geographic’s magazine portfolio, including its flagship title, as well as Kids, History, and Travel, and its broader Travel business, including National Geographic Expeditions.
Ann also spearheaded PR strategy for National Geographic’s Maps and cartography division, partnered with authors and executives on media training, and contributed to corporate communications and crisis management initiatives. Across every role, she has brought the same strategic precision to a Hollywood biography as to a New York Times bestselling health book.
Ann graduated from Lafayette College with a BA in English and Spanish. She lives outside Washington, DC with her husband and two sons.
